OUR HISTORY
1942
The Beginnings
Growing up in Rawalpindi (now in Pakistan) young Satpal Malhotra had to take on the onus of looking after his family and business, when he suddenly lost his father at the young age of 15 years and subsequently his mother at the age of 19 years. With a courageous and bold heart, Satpal grew the business multifold in no time displaying sharp business acumen early in life.
1947
Entrepreneurial start
Tragedy struck again as the family was uprooted from Rawalpindi in the aftermath of the partition. Courageously searching to restart his livelihood, Shri. S. P. Malhotra came to Pune and within just 3 days, he set up a grocery & cutlery business which was profitable from day one!!
1956
Birth of a legacy
After many attempts at numerous business ventures, Shri S. P. Malhotra with his two younger brothers Shri B. R. Malhotra and Shri H. K. Malhotra, founded a small food factory on 13th April, with the motto of bringing world cuisine to India.
